My first real project with the help of my brother in law. We built matching Adirondack chairs. I used reconditioned redwood and he used reconditioned cypress. Had an awesome time doing it and learning the craft.

Welcome to the craft and welcome to LumberJocks. Those are pretty nice chairs!

Great looking finish on the chair. How did you do it? What products did you use for “reconditioning?”

Great looking pair of Adirondacks! And yes, tell us more about the reconditioning process!

We basically just scraped the wood down getting rid of mold and other buildup. Squared and straightened then planed each piece. As far as the finish its cabot semi gloss spar finish.

Actually mean dean I had the same idea as you with the table to go with the chairs. I wanted it to resemble the chairs. It isn’t complete I still need to do some finishing touches sanding and the gloss but it looks pretty similar. Hopefully I can post the finished priduct next week.

Table definitely looks great, too—looking forward to seeing the finished project!
