I carve using tools similar to those of a dentist. I like to add just a tad of oil paint to accentuate the cuts that I’ve made.

This wood carving is 15” tall, 3 3/4” wide and 2 1/2” thick.

All of my wood spirit wood carvings come with a signed and dated certificate telling a bit about me.

I love to carve, especially wood spirits. Any place a branch of a Pine tree meets the base of the tree a knot is formed. When the tree falls down and rots away, the only things that remain are the pitch-filled, resilient knots. It is said that there are spirits that inhabit the knots that allow them to remain in-tact long after the rest of the tree has rotted away. Every knot is unique, stable and beautiful. My job is to release the spirits!

“The Face of Depression”

This is the name that will be listed on the certificate included with the carving and also on the back of the carving.

Another great piece Josh.

Bob

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
