i was surfing the web , and ran across this earlier work of mine .
do you know what it is ?
the original is 2’x2’x1 3/4” mahogany routed out with circle jig and router ,
with a rabbet to accept the mirror .
the mirror was done by kelly/mouse studios in califonia .
kelly has recently died , and i was looking for info on that .
brings back a lot of memories of those times !
what we’re you up to then ?

It looks kind of ‘60s-ish, but I can’t quite figure out what it is supposed to say.

Okay, now I’m with you.

I was 11-going-on-12 when that album was released. I didn’t learn to appreciate them until much later.

littlecope : not one of the ” kids ” ,
i was part of the family dog , and the red dog salon in viginia city nevada , before that .
i did a lot of work with kelly/mouse studios , and got to know many musicians thru them and my own work
at the “record plant ” studio in sausalito .
i got to be guest of honor at the 4th family dog concert in S.F. and they had
the charlatans , sopwith camel , and some unknown band called jefferson airplane on stage .
i did go on to work with kelly/mouse studios quite a bit , as our shops we’re down the street from each others .
i built a practice studio for billy kuertzman of the dead in his basement , and did some work for van morrisons studio.
got to meet and talk with john lennon at the opening of the ” record plant ” recording studio , and many others ,
including boz scaggs ,graham nash, sly stone , janis joplin ,ian anderson , kieth moon and i were becoming friends , just before he died , and a host of others .

so now the test question ,
what famous song appeared on this album ?
no cheating now.

HOLY SMOKES!!! Sounds like you were a Prankster, or very likely knew them!!!
I am truly sorry. There is a huge difference between the people who were THERE, at the beginning, than all those who chased them around later…and these people were/are friends of yours!! Wow!!!
If you don’t mind me saying, this explains much to me about your always upbeat attitude and personality, at least what can be gleaned of it through a computer monitor. Sounds like it was a lot of fun, though I’m sure it was also a long, strange trip at times…
Again, my apologies, sir. I respected you and your opinions and thoughts here already, but you just went up a good deal further in my regards! In all sincerity, Peace, my Friend. MC

well if being alive is repectfull , i accept !
yes , and i knew the pranksters and the hog farmers , and some ken keysey folks ,and knew “wavy gravy ” ,
(hugh romney ) from N.Y.C earlier , wher i worked as a dishwasher at the ” bitter end ” bar , and made grilled
cheese sandwiches for mary of ” peter , paul , and mary ” . and tried to get a girl to bed that bob dylan was also chasing , she gave the clap to another guy instead , saving me and bob from that mess .
and i also worked on wall street for 3 months delivering and getting important papers signed from the big
banks and insurance co. around town .
i left it all , to become a carpenter ( another story ) ,
and since then have spent my time as a woodworker !

I listened to the CD earlier today. Candyman, Box of Rain and Ripple are classics. Jerry would be smiling wherever he is.

Very cool Patron. I saw Grand Funk in Germany, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Bob Seeger when he played the bars in East Lansing, and Ted Nugent when he was still with the Amboy Dukes plus a real old band called Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels when they played the marshalls armorary in Owosso, Mich. in 67. But the Dead live on with us all.

Great piece!! What alot of memories are associated with G.D. I just put on the LP and plan on annoying the kids by turning it way up. Yes I did say LP not cd. For you young whipper – snappers thats a large disc made of vinyl usually black but sometimes pictures were inbedded in them.
Thanks patron for the look into your past.

I just wandered in to this project by happenstance. As an old deadhead and a big fan Kesey, and someone who has done a rather weak imitation of that rose, my hat is off to you.
