I had some mahogany veneer plywood left from my earlier tool cabinet project, and decided to make a similar piece for my home office.

I did a few things differently this time: instead of metal drawer slides, I made maple runners, lubricated with wax. The drawer fronts are curly maple, and since I wasn’t going to be moving this piece around, I made a splayed base with black walnut, joined with mortises and tenons.

The whole thing is finished with several coats of tung oil.

Good looking set of drawers. Do you have any in progress photos of the build?
