My take on the Votive Candle Stand, from Woodcraft Dec/Jan 2015 issue. I screwed up the square holes. So I used that as a redesign opportunity. And plugged the holes with black pegs. And I still couldn’t get them all perfectly lined up.
All of the oak trees where cut down at the company I work for about a year and a half ago. It was all cut to fire wood length. I took a bunch of it home. But at the time I didn’t have a good way to re-saw it. I do now, so I re-sawed a small piece with this project in mind. And let it sit in corner of the shop for awhile. To make sure it was stable enough to use on this project. It turned out to be white oak.
Stained with general finishes vintage cherry water based dye stain. Pegs colored black with permanent marker. Topped of with spray lacquer.
