Got these done for the Dancing Shoes Course I’ll be offering at our Lee Valley store at the beginning of October. Three Thursday evenings in October and we will be stomping’ the sawdust in reckless abandon.
Pic 1 and 2 shows the collection, pic 1 r. front birch open heel and toe, live edge; MDF high heel, painted; Amur cherry high heel.stained and textured, Back row l. to r. birch boot, Amur cherry platform high heel, Amur cherry ballet style high heel.
Pic 4 Follow the yellow brick road…... becauz, becauz,.........
Pic 5 Had a chance to laminate scrap pieces of MDF (medium density fibreboard). This substrate carves like butter but does require a finish. Good experimentation.
Pic 6 His and hers (old timers???) birch dancers.

And I thought the Dutch were the only ones that made wooden shoes! I think you could teach them a thing or two or thee!
