Beautiful work. Cherry is one of my favorites. I have to say I like it better without the TV though.

I’m curious about the curve design in the legs. How did you decide to locate the position of the curve?

The curves in the legs were decided by a series of mathmatical and scientific calculations, then graphed in 4-D space, then I….. nevermind, I just cut on some poplar until I found a shape that I liked!

Jeremy-
I love the design of the cabinet. The legs are wonderful, and the symentry of the top apron and the lower apron was a great design feature.
I will say that the use of the figured cherry might be alittle excessive for some peoples taste. As a suggestion, if you were to use the figured cherry in the door center panels and the centers of the end panels, then maybe on the top, the figure might be more effective. Right now, the whole piece looks very, very busy. And the beauty of the figure gets lost in the overall piece.

Of course the main thing is that if you really like your design and use of materials then thats what is important.

thanks for posting.

I really like the figure in all that cherry! Like popshop says, I’m sure you didn’t get that beautiful cherry locally! I know it’s nowhere near me here in MS!

I’m struggling over a design for a cherry entertainment cabinet, so I’ve been combing the site for some ideas. A couple of the design elements you use are (currently) a bit out of my range of ability, but I hope you don’t mind me “stealing” your design of the handles. And after seeing yours, I’m convinced the solid top is a must. Really makes a piece of furniture look rich. Beautiful legs and unique upper side panel element….Great piece!
