A present for the wife’s birthday. She has recently moved into a real office (she got a promotion) and is trying to warm it up a bit, so I got out some old plans (tip of the hat to DaveR), and put this together. The lampshade I bought at Target.
Cherry, with shellac and wax finish.
I left it a bit on the light side, in terms of finishing color, knowing it will darken to that classic reddish-brown cherry we love.
The plans can be found in Woodsmith #133 (Jan 2001). If you contact them, they will email you a PDF of the article for only $5!

Very nice! The good clean style and good cratsmanship go well together!
