Drum Inlay End Table

Project by VerteramoFurniture7 posted 158 days ago 345 views 0 times favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is a drum table that I made to go with the guitar inlay end table for some one who had two sons. One played the drums and one played the guitar. It was tricky with the skinny parts of the cymbol legs. The top is made out of recyled pine I got from a pallet making plant. I glued them toghether to make the top. The inlay is oak.

Thanks sidestepmcgee.
I used the Whiteside inlay bit set. I first got a picture of it on the computer and addd for the offset on the picture then cut it out of 1/4” mdf. I then used the template with the collar on the bit set and cut out the inlay part on the table top. I then took the template and put it on a 1/4” thick piece of red oak. And with the collar off the bit cut out the inlay. The inlay should fit right into the cutout you made on the top.

After a little bit of doing it you get better at it. On this one I had to do some sanding on the inlay part to get it to fit right but after alittle bit of effort it worked out.

Nicely done! I need to learn how to do this. My inlay skills are very weak.

A nice job on your inlays. I’m glad that the router bit set worked out. I’ve owned a bit set like that for about 10 years and haven’t used it yes maybe I’d do that some day.
