For this simple project, i had tons of coloured pencils kicking around my house, all in different rooms. It was always a nightmare to find the right colour on project night. So I had a waste piece of mahogany in the basement and drilled it out with my drill press and voila…now the coloured pencils and all in one place. It is approx 3 ’ wide.
Kids love it…and it looks great on the top of my black piano.
I finished it with Antique Oil Finish.

My son would have a field day with all those colors. Simple, yet prefect. Kudos.

It funny, since i made this thing, when done, the kids are compelled to put their pencils back it in. I like that.

Anything that comes out as elegant as that pencil holder is not a ”waste of mahogany”.
Fantastic job! I bet by the end you were getting tired of looking at holes! haha
Keep up the great work.

That is what I need for my son…he is compelled to leave his pencils on the coffee table or the floor.
This is a great idea.
