Hi all, its been a while and things have been slow but I’m getting back into woodworking, this pinkgum table is a custom piece for a client who milled his own timber some years ago on his family’s farm and now that he’s retired has decided to have it turned into furniture to give to his now adult children, the timber is quite unpredictable and can contain surprising tension that will cause overnight cracks or even chunks ot just pop off for me to find in the morning. West systems epoxy has been invaluable . Despite the difficulties of the material the end result is something that I am very pleased with as is the customer, hopefully more pictures and work to come.

Looks like a great table. I always enjoy seeing projects made from wood that was milled from a tree by either the client or woodworker. Sounds like this wood is quite a challenge to work with.

Have your say...
