Posting a project I did last year: a rustic bench, made from rough-cut fir and lodge-pole pine logs.

I used a grinder with a wire wheel to smooth out the wood, but allow it to keep a rougher texture.

I stained it first with a lighter pine colored stain, then with walnut. It gave it nice variation.

The coffee table was made from the extra pieces and cut-off from the bench.

The project is at: http://tfworkshop.blogspot.com/2015/06/log-leg-bench.html

I adore that rustic style. It’s like stretched Adirondak. Keep it natural, pal.

Great looking rustic furniture set—looks like it belongs in a National Parks lodge!

Looks awesome. I like the use of logs for legs. I also like the tile included in the table.
