this is a gift i made for my wife to hang on the wall or set on the coffee table, its made from a 1×4 white pine, she didnt want it stained or sealed just left natrual looking done it on my scroll saw, i’m starting to like scrolling a bite, takes some getting used too the saw, it breaks blades a bite and scares me when it does, it is missing the foot that holds the wood down, got to make enough things to sell to buy a new saw thanks for looking!

Some nice scrolling. Watch out you can get addicted to scrolling. The reason the foot is missing, is most scrollers toss it first thing. It just gets in the way.

Looks very nice. Yes, when a blade breaks it makes a lot of noise….just part of doing scroll saw work.

I have also removed the foot on my scroll saw and do not know anyone who uses it.

Realy nice scrollsaw work. I’m also kind of scrolling begginer. Very interesting technic. I agree with your wife – keep it natural.
Cheers

Another one joins the addicted. It just feels so goood! They are right that most just toss the hold down as it is more in the way than anything. You will probably find that as you improve the blades won’t break quite so often. That is most often caused by either wrong tension of the way you are feed the wood to the blade and as you become more proficient, it will happen very seldom.
