I made this for a friend last year and posted the pictures on facebook. I ended up getting commission to make 3 more.

It started with making the templates out of 1/4” MDF, making sure they fit perfectly and no gap. Then I made a large maple end grain board and a few small walnut end grain boards, rough sanding. Then it’s a matter of taping on the template (two sided carpet tape works great), route the pattern, glue and snap them into place. Then sand, sand, and more sanding.

I am way way way impressed. My first thought was that you must have inlaid it then carried the inlay around the edge. This is a wonderful piece. Thank you so much for sharing it.
