In my wood shop class we were assigned a project to make anything we wanted out of scrap wood. I decided since i have a lot of shoes and not all of them fit in my closet that i would make a shoe rack. Eventually if i ever wanted, i could use it for other purposes as well. Since i used plywood as the shelves i had no other choice but to run supports on each side of it. I cut a series of dado cuts to the width of the plywood to the point where it would fit nice & snug. I used a nail gun to keep the plywood and supports intact then screwed in two nails at the end of every support. I also did not paint or poly my wood since it will be put into my closet away from visitors to see.
