There’s a small group of friends who usually go to lunch after church. There’s a small café about a block from the house that puts out a huge buffet for 8 bucks, which includes drink, and tax. There’s generally 4 or 5 choices in meats, a bunch of fresh cooked veggies, and usually 5 or 6 different casseroles. Oh yeah, and three’s always a choice of several of fresh baked desserts! You cant beat it for 8 bucks!
.
Any hooo, for some reason if you’re late getting there, the best desserts are sometimes in short supply, so most of us grab something the first time thru the line so as to not get caught without :-)
.
One of the guys ALWAYS eats his dessert first. We kid him about it, but apparently it stems from when he was a kid, his older siblings would take his dessert from him, so he started eating it first.
.
Bonnie saw a framed sign in Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and said ”That would be perfect for Jimbo.” I agreed but you know I wasn’t about to PAY for a lousy framed print when I could MAKE him one from wood. Made from a piece of cedar I had in the pile. It’s 23” long and 10” wide. I used the router to “freehand” the letters and since I didn’t want that lovely cedar aroma to get sealed in, I only put the BLO on the front.

Thanks for looking.

Well, is the restaurant going to hang it up? (the sign, I mean)

Not giving it to the restaurant, giving it to the friend who eats his dessert first :-)

Cool sign. Can’t tell a lie, I would be grabbing my desert first also.

That’s a great looking sign. My Dad’s version of this saying was “What if the house burns down?”

If you are anything like me, you checked carefully, just in case, that you weren’t advising to first eat “a dry, barren area of land, especially one covered with sand, that is characteristically desolate, waterless, and without vegetation”.

Eat two desserts. The older you get the less time you have to enjoy all the good things left within your reach. Go for two at a minimum, and they can keep their chckin’n’dumplins….!

Wise words and a very handsome sign. I admire your free handing skills.
