We live on a private road and 6 neighbors have homes on it.
We found a way to get concensus (whew), agreed to a name and a budget, and I constructed an entry monument sign along with 6 matching individual house numbers to go in front of each house.
I wanted the signs to be as permanent as possible so I made it out of Ipe. The sign is about 4 ft tall and 6 ft wide. I oiled the Ipe with Penofin and incorporated slate into the design as well. Mounted on concrete piers so no wood was underground. We contracted with a sign company to make a professional looking design to mount onto the structure. They also made matching house numbers for the 6 small signs.
Fairly significant organizational effort that came out pretty well. Total cost was about $ $1600. $900 of that was the sign printing, the rest was for the lumber & materials. That’s about $275 per neighbor…. They all think I’m a GOD!! :)
