I have seen several projects which revolved around bowls being turned, cut in half and glued back together to form an elongated form. I decided to try it, but most had a seperate set of legs to stabilize the round bottom. I decided to make the center section part of the leg system. I decided since I had to turn a large square to go ahead and make the upper half a handle. Hence, the bowl became more of a basket.
The main wood used is Bloodwood, the handle/base is Canarywood, the tiled section is Padauk and Canarywood, and the end pieces are Shedua.
A lot of work compared to just making a bowl, but I enjoyed it.

Not a basket or a bowl it’s in a category all it’s own. Fantastic work and a beautiful “vessel”.

Beautiful, super idea.
Balance, handle, minimal clean design, great!
