This is my second Hopi Geometric design. The piece is of maple and 6 inches wide and 5 inches tall.
This piece is a donation to my high school to raise money for the Honor Wall. A wall with the name of every graduate that served in the armed forces will have a plaque on the wall at the hight school. Hope it brings in some money

We have been gone 7 weeks and now just getting back to turning

Ok lets get it right. This piece is not a segmented piece. I burned the lines in and colored them. The current bid for this piece is $ 50. Sure hope it brings in more than that

Nice piece Ron. Everything works, shape, wood , design and colour. It’s worth more than $50.

Stunning.

After working in the trades for 35 years I’m always impressed when I can’t answer the “How did he do that?” question. Sure would like to see how you laid it out.

It is always “How did you lay it out” Using an indexing wheel and matching the width of the lines lay out the lines in the opposite direction. Then I get a glass of Jack Daniels, pencil and an eraser. I start to draw and if I don’t like it erase and start over The next one I will do a step by and show you all. The lines then get burned and then colored with India ink Hope I have helped. Watch for the next one.
