This project involved stripping and refinishing only the top of this walnut desk for a customer ( hence the masking). The stain is a walnut wiping stain and the finish consists of a vinyl sealer and two coats of ML Campbell Magnamax, a pre-catalyzed lacquer in a satin sheen.

That’s quite an improvement. You really brought that back to life.

Looks great. Did you chemical strip or sand the old finish?

Hi Paul:

We always remove old finishes with chemicals, never by sanding. Sanding presents too much risk of damaging the surface, not to mention the fact that it’s a lot more work.

The before is a little more alive; you know, may be you have toned it much?
