Bookcase for my daughter

Project by jhawkinnc posted 158 days ago 460 views 2 times favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Many years ago, while looking through a Pottery Barn Kids catalog, I came across a bookcase with a pitched “roof” that made it look like a house. After looking at the price, I determined that I could build one a whole lot cheaper – and hopefully as nice. Here’s the result. It’s constructed with MDF and edged with store-bought molding. There are adjustable shelves in all three compartments. I painted it with the idea of matching some other flower graphics in my daughter’s room. As you can see from these images, it’s being used – and may need an expansion :-)

Enjoy and all comments are welcome.

Nice work! I posted a similar project a few months back (same specs: Pottery Barn Kids). I like the cabinet doors that you added.

Look’s real cute. Good job. Aren’t you worried that your daughter will toss all the books and make a doll house out of it?

Thank you for all of your great comments! As I’m sure you all know, it’s nice to make something for someone you love.

Yes, I did the all the painting – probably took longer than the actual construction :-)
