Found this piece of Amur cherry wood in my wood cache. It has been around for awhile so I decided to cobble another boot. It seemed different from my previous Amur cherry wood, exhibiting a greater variance in colour. So I let the wood speak and the end product was a great surprise. The spalting with the reddish grain is quite striking. Even the worm hole adds to the character of the boot. The edges and shape of the boot were intentional to be in harmony with the colour and grain of the wood.
The clump of mushrooms gave me the opportunity to pose the boot in a natural setting. All colours seem to go together.

This is a beautiful piece! and displayed with care!

Your carving are fabulous Roman and they are true works of art. I looked at many of your other carvings and noticed that none of them have achieved the Daily Top 3 but as far as I’m concerned, everyone of them deserved that rank and more.
Thanks for sharing!
