I call this one a geologist’s ‘Cliff Hanger’ work boot. Imagine a hard working geologist prospecting for the mother lode in some mountainous terrain when nature calls and he has to relieve himself. With toes firmly placed over a rock ledge he finds relief! Now that’s a story which may be true.
Found the birch log on a construction site and it was mine for the taking. Birch is a beautiful wood to carve. You will see a large ‘chainsaw’ gash on the left side lace up area. I didn’t want to carve this away so I carved a distraction with the bent toe piece. Somehow it works.
Finished with several coats of wipe-on-poly, I give you ‘The Cliff Hanger’!

Roman, this is nicely done. It will make a great conversation piece.
