This segmented vase contains 343 individual segments. It is made up of Maple, Padauk, Purpleheart and Yellowheart. It stands approximately 8” wide by 11” wide. Each layer contains 8 segments, with the exception of the main decorative layer which contains 128. The top is removable so you can let the Genie out of the bottle when you need a favor.
I have included a few pictures the were taken during construction. This piece probably took about 12 working hours to complete.

Wow You did a Super job !! One of the best I’ve seen in awhile.
Do you use a software program to create the design and segmenting process ? if not could you tell us how you go about creating it?
Thanks so much for posting it and sending close ups.
Great Job!!!

I do use a software program. It’s one that I wrote many years ago that is not nearly as fancy as some that are available today but it works for me. It gives me the length and thickness of the each individual segment and then I create the pattern using those dimensions.
Thanks to all for the kind comments.
