Poplar birdhouse with a through dovetail back. The roof is made from cut up antique framing squares and the entry hole came from an old walnut office desk piece. Finished with satin clear Helmsmen Spar Urethane.

Were the squares out of square? That too can be fixed. I love old tools, just kinda knocked the wind out of me when I realized the squares were now shingles instead of squares of shingles. Ok, bad pun, as are most puns. Guess they gotta be used for something. Good looking project and tight dovetails.BTKS

Waiting on carpet installation until the owners move in. They might want to pick out the color. I prefer hardwood!

looks great…a little worried about the substandard roofing materials used in this birdhouse…

Don’t worry Matt and BTKS, I’m sure this one will “measure up” to a great home for some lucky tennants…

BTKS – I appreciate your old tool comment. Squareness was the lease of my problem. I salvaged what I could. The rest did not measure up.

Shrub, I withdrawal any earlier concerns. Looking at your other posted projects this fits into the theme and a great application of the reuse part of reduce, reuse, recycle. I like the theme of your birdhouses. It really shows some creativity. NO criticism was intended. Later, BTKS
