My parents are farmers (and me when I get the chance) and my mom has always loved Paul Harvey’s poem about the farmer recently made famous by Dodge in their Super Bowl commercial. This sign stems from an idea she saw online and one that eventually lead to my purchase of a Probotix CNC router. This was my first tiled toolpath project and their are some errors but great learning experience. Mom seems to enjoy it :)

I really like that! I was impressed by the size.

What is the size? Is your CNC large enough to cut the full length.

It is hard to tell from the photographs if the letters and images are engraved or raised from the surface.

Thanks! It was my first really big project with my CNC, a few errors which were very helpful learning experiences. The final sign ended up being 11.25×60”. My CNC has a ~25×25 cutting area so I had to “tile” the toolpaths meaning move the workpiece each cut and then reset my zeros at each origin point, this one had three different “tiles”. The letters are raised from the surface about 1/3” if I remember correctly and then I did a cut around each letter with a small bit 1/2” deep to give it a shadow effect. The farm silhouette is carved into the surface.
