A friend of mine and his wife bought a new home in north Georgia. The previous owner was a cabinet maker and left all sorts of goodies in the shop like a radial arm saw, some palm sanders, a combination disk/belt sanding station, along with lots of hardware, sanding belts and disks and tons of lumber and cabinet-grade plywood. When we visited with them in early May, he gave me some shorts of maple, walnut and cherry.
I made them an end grain cutting board last week in anticipation of them visiting with us this week. I used wood I got from them and added some wood I had—a couple of strips of padauk I got from Andy.
Overall size is about 13” x 13” x 1-½”. I would have made it bigger but it had to fit inside of their motorcycle saddle bags. Finish is 4 applications of mineral oil.
