A good friend of my daughter wanted a J to put on her mantle. So I took a couple of pine 2×10 and glued them. Free handed a J and cut it out. Cut a stand out from the scraps and finished it all with an ebony stain and a coat of lacquer. If she wants she can hang it on the wall. The stand is not attached.
So a quick, simple J, (for her last name)

Thanks for looking.

That is huge – compass or a gallon can for the outside radius ?

Naw really – I’ve caught myself using small prescription bottles up to 5 gallon buckets to scribe an arc mostly because I’m too lazy to make the right tool.

You are right. I have searched the shop for the right circular thing to use. But actually on this I free handed it.

Have your say...
