This is a carving I did for one of my co-workers who is on the pro staff for the TV show Nock On on the Sportsman Channel. It is black acacia with redwood burl inlay.

Very nicely done, BIP! How did you carve this? CNC? Router? by hand? The inlay and finish are beautiful! Thanks for sharing and welcome to LumberJocks!

I carved it by hand and then used my bandsaw to resaw the perimeter of the shield and logo off the base. I then utilized a trim router to remove material to create a recess for the redwood burl inlay.

I then re-attached the perimeter and logo with wood glue. Once that set, I did a little finish sanding and then applied 6 coats of lacquer.
