Tried this projject again with Purple Heart and maple but kept the cut patterns the same. This pattern keeps the squares pretty consistant but for a change the next ones I may alter the cut pattern again. Finished with Howards cutting board mineral oil and wax.

Great. OK, I will be the dummy and ask…. I have seen these before but wasn’t sure just how they were layed out. I see you first cut a design and then glue the different woods together. What is the next step to get the final design?

Something is wrong with my monitor, these boards are all wavy!

Really nice work.
I have always wanted to make one of these.

Agreed there are many locations to find this project steps. My last set I tried to detail some of my input

Overall don’t shy away from trying it as it is a great project if you keep the steps correct with each cut.

I made a Couple of trace templates for mine so the cut pattern wouldn’t be a guessing game each time.

Also remember the boards are always stacked while cutting so it is a great 2 for 1 cut project.

Thanks
