Project Information

I really enjoy making segmented wooden bowls. The whole process is lesson in calculated strategic planning. From the original idea, the design using one of the segmented bowl software programs, the mitering, gluing, stacking, and finally turning. Of all the woodworking projects I do, segmented bowls are the most precise; very little room for error. This probably explains why I only make one or two a year. This piece is just over 11" height and 10" width and has over 400 pieces. The feature ring is purple heart and maple. The remainder of the bowl is Brazilian Cherry.

As always, thanks for looking.

Very nice, reminds me of some of the stuff that Ray Allen liked to make.

Really nice bowl, been wanting to try segmented turning for awhile, just haven't got around to it.
