I started making wrapped rings which I do like, but then I figured out how easy drilled rings are to make.
I made 4 ring and already have 2 more in the works with ideas for more. I have so many scraps at work I can use and it gives me something to do at coffee break at work also.
woods used
pic1 walnut, maple, purpleheart
pic2 birch plywood
pic3 walnut, maple, cedar
pic4 hickory, maple, cedar and purpleheart

WOW…............those do look pretty neat. I don’t know how long the plywood would last though.

Nice use of scraps. Good color choices.
Have you tested them for strength and water survival?

I was just playing with the same idea…. I thought about using holesaw for the outside, forstener for the inside, but yours looks like they are not round on the outside

Good job. l like the facets on the outside and the wood colors. Seeing all these rings you fellas are making has got me thinking about ring projects, and I really don’t have the time right now!

Scraps at work – your lucky.. ;-) Very nice rings (I like Pic 3). Do you use a lathe, or jig of some sort?
