This is a 6 drawer unit that was completed for my showroom in June 2009. It is part of the platform group with different sizes and types of drawer pedestal. This one is 9 ¼”h overall. It is built using oak and epoxy coated side mount rails. I originally designed this type of drawer unit to hold a waterbed so it is very sturdy.

Nice looking bed. Is the middle panel at the foot and headboards sepatate so you can change the size of the bed width? I plan on making one for my grandson for a single matress.

Wayne, you are correct. The center divider changes the width of the bed so with the same design I can use it on a twin, full, queen, or king. If the pedestal is taller I usually put a door at the foot. You get storage all down the center.

I had someone else contact me that was buildng one for a family member. I sent them my instructions on how to build them. Send me your email and I’ll send them to you also. (for personal use only)

I am trying to construct a pedestal for my waterbed. Right now I am sleeping on the floor, or so it seems, 9 1/4” is far to low for a six footer. Chris, I like your pedestal because it has storage but if I could get it at 18” that would be super. Would an 18” pedestal built like this be strong enough for a king size waterbed? Is it possible to stack 2 smaller pedestals ? Here is what I did over the Memorial Day holiday.

I’m looking to build a bed in a king size with drawers on both sides (hopefully double stacked) and storage down the middle. Is there any suggestions or help hints you can give?

Nice this may be what I am looking for to replace the set that got broken when we moved. I hope you are still allowing private use of instructions. Is that a possibility?

Aaron, email me at chris@wwbeds.com and I’ll see if I can find a PDF copy for you. They are mainly for my use, so they are not real clear, but you should be able to figure them out.

Hi Chris, do you still have instructions for that 6 drawer pedestal you did June of 2009. I have a teak waterbed and the pedestal broke and I’m having a hard time find a replacement or plans to build a new one. Please let me know. Thanks Nick.
