Project Information
This is a plaque I made to add to a pre-bought bench, yes unfortunately I cant take credit for the bench as well. One of my friends had the genius idea to give a bench as a wedding gift to use as a wedding sign in book, so everyone that showed up could sign the bench and they could take pictures on it and keep it in their yard as a remembrance. She enlisted me to make this plaque out of aromatic cedar, she drew out the picture and let me take it away.
Used turquoise to inlay the birds, mahogany for the branches, malachite for the leafs, abalone for the name, obsidian for the date, and red glitter/epoxy inlay for the heart. Kinda a haphazard mixture of inlaying everything but I think it turned out how my friend had wanted it, and I got reported that the lucky couple loved it and got several good pictures on it so definitely a thumbs up.
Also completely nerve racking cutting a indentation to inlay this plaque permanently into a bench that I wasn't sure I could fix if i screwed it up, lucky it worked because if it didn't not sure what I would have done lol.
