Walnut and Lacewood Map Frame

This is one of two frames made for my father-in-law. He loves his big World and United States maps, but the pushpins he had holding them on the wall did them no honor. I used walnut for the structure of the frame with a lacewood inlay. The “compass points” are hand cut from burled walnut. Finish is tung and wiping poly.

WOW! I really like it. I have been looking for a nice design for some frames for some new portraits.
