This bookcase is a stand alone over 7’ tall , 12’’ deep and 5’ wide.
Made from Hoop pine 1 5/8’’ or 40 mm thick.
Shelves were 3/4” [19mm] and edged with Australian Native Hardwood.. not sure but I think Red Gum.. Lyptus?
Plinth and crown molding were made from the same hardwood in two sections and rounded over mitered at the corners. Backing is radiata pine lining board. I didn’t know what I was doing at the time but it worked out all right.
I think anyway.
So did my mate Lionel,
Larry

Well it looks very nice and seems to hold books well too. Seems you knew more than you thought you did

That is a big one for being “portable” or not built in. I have made a couple similar and they are not fun to move.
I don’t know if you have earthquakes in Queensland but be sure to fasten it to the wall anyway so it can’t topple over and hurt someone.

That’s a really nice looking bookcase. Love the woods too.
