A small slab of White Cedar and some fence paling sized bits of Blackheart Sassafrass arrived one day,, can you make a bookcase for my daughter,, he said,, Ok..
I found the plans in Australian Woodworker Magazine,, one of the very few times I have followed plans,, in fact the only time.
I managed to make the bookcase using all but the small flitches off the slab, and the sawdust obviously,,
All the uprights were mortised in,.the drawers were Dovetailed.. my first time for that too.. and If you notice the two drawer fronts are cut from the same board so the grain flows across both, too many details and not enough pics [ I had heaps but can’t find them all],
enjoy,
Larry

Ashame to cover the shelves with books, the wood looks great. It matchs your work

Sort of looks like an arts and crafts style. Very well done.
