Mom's Garage cabinet storage

My mother came to me and asked me to build her a cabinet with furniture grade plywood, but she didn’t need it all fancy. She wanted a sturdy cabinet with the drawers you see in the picture, and open space for her to store all her garage crap. This project was done back in May, but I am just now actually using my lumber jock’s account due to not having many projects done at that point. Currently I have a few, and will start uploading them regularly.

I pocket-hole’d the entire thing together and it’s basically all 2×2’ or 4×2’ squares so that I could use a 3/4” spacer and put in three drawers in each cavity. The rest of it kind of just fell together well. I also edge banded the whole thing (poorly as it was my first time banding), just to give it a little flair without deviating from the “fancy” look of the whole project.

FYI

I am NOT a finished carpenter, professional cabinet maker, or by any stretch of the word a “Professional woodworker”, but I enjoy building stuff and the jigs/fixtures I create for my shop are just that…...for my shop. They are usually ugly and have a few errors because I do most of my work at night and i’m sometimes tired. Short of cutting my hand off I make a few mathematical errors periodically.

That being said, I will post regularly’ish on here.

Thanks.

Very nicely done. I would like to have a garage to put that in.

Thanks everyone. She loves it, and has already damn near filled it up. Actually her garage is a little unlevel, and I leveled it out a little better than it was because she was having problems with the drawers coming open on their own. She didn’t want to spend the money on the locking ones. Now it works alot better though.
