These are for the cribbage players out there.
It has been awhile since posting any project so here goes…
I have made a lot of cribbage boards over the years but these three are probably my favorites.
The first two pictures are an oak and walnut laminated and inlayed “29” board with a display stand to hold a deck of cards and the pegs.
The next two pictures are the same design board and stand all walnut but with a hand carved leather “29” with the perfect cribbage hand in the background. (Leatherworking is my other pastime) This one is Jamie’s favorite!!!
The last two pictures are a board made for a friend of mine with his registered cattle brand burned in. It is 3/16” layers of oak and walnut laminated. The pictures do not really bring out the contrast of the wood (photography is not my best specialty) but it is nice first hand. The brand is an exact pattern of his branding irons.
Each of these boards were interesting to make as they are a lot different and unique from the normal ones made in the past. All of these are made from pallet wood that I bring home from work and finished with many coats of wet sanded Watco oil.
Thanks for looking,
