Wood Stove Hood

I made this hood to cover a range hood a buddy bought. It is made of solid Oak and plywood Oak. The inside has a frame I made of 2×4. The range controls were covered with a little hidden door. Looks better than just plain hood, I think.

Nice job. It matches the cabinets and looks much better than a plain hood. I like how you hid the controls.

You certainly gave the kitchen a great look by adding this .
Looks very professional and the stain and finish match perfectly !

Thanks guys. I did the whole kitchen. The kitchen was hoodless for a while before I could talk them into not using the standard above stove cabinet.

I showed my buddy and his wife pictures of similar hoods and they even saw one I did in my home, but she could not picture it in her home. She was scared to commit without actually seeing it first. So many people are scared to leave the 50’s traditional look around here.
