If you read my previous project entry you know the Mendleson’s story and if you read my response to Karson’s comments in that project posting you know that I went back and bought another dozen scoops details. In the bin of scoops were a few matching juicers. Couldn’t resist ….
I batched 5 handles yesterday afternoon and finished them up today… One juicer and 4 scoops. Three are made from 12/4 mahogany shorts about 6 inches long. The other two from 10/4 zebrawood…. link to ebay hardwood seller
Juicer and a matching ice cream scoop are already boxed and ready to ship to my sister-in law in Seattle.
Only used 4 tools … drill press, band saw, belt sander and oscillating spindle sander.
Shapes of the handles came from a small french curve … what ever looked good etc and fit the material.
Very comfortable in the palm of the hand and I bet no one has on like it !!
Sanded to 220 .
Finish is right out of the can Rustolium spray lacquer. Bought from Wallymart… three coats
below is a slide show of today’s work

Very nice Dan. I got some (it looks like 12/4 Cherry in my gloat of the day.) I plan on using some for legs, however some has defects so cutting smaller pieces wouldn’t be a problem. I’ll make up a flat rate box in trade.
