I finally had got around to making a frame for my wife’s photo. I ran into a small piece of Bubinga that was not large enough to make a box or tray out of so I figured it would look good with tiger maple and used it to make this frame. Simple design so not to take away from the picture. I think it works.

Quite a nice design there Marc… Just one question though; How do you secure the miters? biscuits, etc….

Nothing special on this frame. The frame fits a 12×16 picture and felt it did not need any special joinery reinforcement. I glued it up using small pinch dogs overnight and was solid. This was the first time with pinch dogs. On one large frame I made that was quite heavy, I used pocket screws and glue. Typically I reinforce the joint with a spline going across the miter in a contrasting wood.
