A fellow Navy Senior Chief friend of mine recently commissioned me to make this Keepsake Pen Box for a shipmate of his who is retiring. They are both submariners and served together on the USS Florida (SSGN-678). The box is made from half inch cherry and stained it with Red Mahogany. I cut the submarine dolphin warfare device as well as the Master Chief Anchor with my CNC machine on the outside of the box and V-Carved an inscription on the inside of the lid as well as on the bottom of the box. The pen is an Art Deco Roller Ball kit I turned with Cocobolo. This was a fun project and well received.

Looks great—very nicely done. I particularly like the mahagony stained cherry.

Beautiful work! The mahogany stain really brings out the beauty of the cherry.

This piece is a real beauty. I love everything about it and I’m sure that his shipmate is delighted with it.

This is super nice. I like the embossed images on the top and side.
