This nightstand was a gift for my brother in-law. It is made from Maple and the top, shelf and drawer face are made from laminated wood that was reused from a drop leaf table that was in my brother in-laws family for many years – he decide he no longer wanted it so I turned it into something I know he would use.

It looks pretty good. You should plug those pocket holes, though.

Great job. I’m a big believer in re-using wood, whether from scrap, pallets, or furniture. In this case, the connection is even better. -SST

Re-used wood is a great idea. The times my Girlfriend stands in Ikea waiting for me as I look through the off cut sections as I try and think of what I could do with all the different waisted pieces of wood.
Great job and liking the contrast in timber.

Totally agree with e comment on plugging the pocket holes.
Looking back I should have laminated the inside of the side pieces (originally the underside of the old table).
This was the very first project I made that was not a part of actually building the shop. Novice mistakes can be found – mostly due to impatience – which is one of the best lessons I am learning from woodworking.
Thanks to all for the comments.
