My 50 high school class reunion is coming up next month and I was asked to donate a couple of door prizes. I made the 6” shallow bowl from purpleheart which turned like iron. The box is 3.75” across and 4” tall and is made from myrtle top and bottom and sides of yellowheart. I was to be twice as tall until I goofed up during sanding trying to a use a bowl sanding tool in the inside. It started bouncing and blew out the side of the box. I hope I remember what I learned from this mistake. Shortened the box and finished it. Both pieces just have a coat of BLO so far. What do you suggest for a finish? Just wax it as is? or?
