The two boxes are my first attempts at making turned boxes I’ve made them from what looks like canary wood, or tulip. Not sure which since it was in the junk box at my local wood addiction center. The 3 and 4 th pictures are a cane top, another turned box, and my paduk and bloodwood pencil holder. Lastly are my version of the game we all play at the local Cracker barrel as we wait for our food. I’ve actually been holding on to these turned pieces from the Woodworking store in San Diego from way back in 1988, they just traveled with me forever and now I’ve finally found a use for them since they never actually made it into the plate rack they were bought for.

Hi Scott,
Look great—very nice turnings that I know from personal experience are very prone to catching and getting thrown off the lathe.
Any tips? What kind of chuck/jaws did you use? Process, tools?
