Here is the fireplace I built, the previous owners had covered the brick that lies beneath with some left over marble they also used in the bathroom, looked awful. So ripped all that out and redid the whole thing. So new mantle, new tile, and a new hearth. Finish is sprayed oil. Still have a little trim work around the hearth but it’s 99% done.

Thanks Bob, just checked out your projects, totally love the arbor and the gate, lovely. Think I may have to borrow that arbor design myself as I’d been planning on building one this summer :)

Good work Damian, I wish my raised hearth was lower as is yours. Nice dentil moulding.

Very nice. I wish I had the time to do something similar to up the value of our place. Methinks it will just have to stand on it’s own for now (goes on the market the 10th of July, wish us luck).

I’ll see if I can dig one up. I know I have one midway through the project where I’ve taken the marble off and exposed the brick and the old mantel is in place, I’ll try and post that one later.
