Mother's Day Swing

Project by James posted 178 days ago 299 views 1 time favorited 3 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I built this swing for my wife for mothers day this year. Its up on blocks in my not-so-level yard for the moment until I build my island deck.

Basic treated lumber, stained with Minwax Provincial and 2 coats of Thompson’s water seal. I’ll cut the chains off after I get it set up on my island deck.

I’ve built swings before and have usually had to brace them with some kind of kicker from the side frames to the top, but this swing is pretty darn stable due to the angles involved. We’ll see how it holds up over the years!

Great job on the swing. Your wife is a lucky woman. She can sit in that swing and read for hours.

Thanks for sharing.
