First I extended this peninsula the width of one base cabinet. Next I covered the existing counter with granite and put travertine on the walls. To finish the edge, I put a chamfered edge on 3 inch solid oak boards to give the transition from wood to the granite surface a nice smooth edge. I am very pleased with the new looks it gave to a 14 year old kitchen.

I’ll need to show this beautiful job to my sister back in Missouri… her kitchen has identical design layout… but she wants to update…
At first glance I thought she got her husband to work on hers. Oh, if I get something started here he won’t be speaking to me for awhile…
