Here is my latest project. It’s a simple train table made out of 1/2” birch plywood, for a train set that we bought the kids. The top flips over to a flat surface with chalkboard paint. The kids are loving it so far.

That is a great table for that little train set.

Thanks, Charles! It was a great excuse to build something.

Wait a min. I don’t recognize the table which looks very Cool , but that looks like a twin of My Granddaughter. You sure you didn’t borrow her to take this picture. :)

Haha… Not unless you’re my dad, and his name isn’t Richard, so I doubt it!

Great job. She’ll be using that for many years. When my kids were done with theirs, I repurposed the table into drawers for a shop cabinet. Now every time I open one and see the scribbles and stickers it just warms my cackles.

I was planning something very similar for my kids’ trains, but grandma beat me to it and ordered some IKEA junk. I guess it’s held up okay so far, but the idea of buying instead of building is certainly less appealing to me.

I agree! Buying it takes all the fun out of it!
